Washington, DC—The DC Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD), the Maryland/DC Minority Supplier Development Council (MSDC), and Verizon partnered to deliver a vendor fair that provided DC small and local businesses with strategies for growing their business with Verizon. The Vendor Fair was hosted by Verizon on May 22, and provided participants with insights into the technical and corporate requirements for small enterprises looking to grow their business with Verizon.
"DSLBD is committed to linking DC's small and local businesses with local, federal, and global business opportunities in real-time," said DSLBD Director Harold Pettigrew. "MSDC shares that commitment, and Verizon recognizes the value that our small and local businesses add to their enterprise. We’re excited to work together to ensure that District businesses do as much business as possible with Verizon."
This partnership between DSLBD, MSDC, and Verizon was developed from a shared interest in supporting District small businesses. DSLBD is committed to ensuring that District businesses have real-time access to all business and partnership opportunities. Verizon is aggressively looking for local business partners across its markets, and pursuing strategies to maximize the participation of local businesses in its projects. MSDC has a track record as a committed, successful advocate for small and local businesses in the District and Maryland. A series of conversations between the three partners about how to maximize small and local business participation on Verizon projects lead to the launch of the vendor fair.
