(Washington, DC) – The Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) unveiled its redesigned dslbd.dc.gov website. The aim of dslbd.dc.gov will be to connect District residents and small businesses with the information they need to access a wide variety of programs such as the DC Procurement Technical Assistance Center, ExportDC, and the Certified Business Enterprise Program, to name a few. The recent changes will simplify a user’s experience as they navigate DSLBDs services to meet the changing needs of today’s small business market.
Dslbd.dc.gov serves as the Districts outpost for businesses interested in certifying or expanding their existing services. As more businesses steer toward online services the website will continue to evolve to match the demands of the clients.
“This is a major step forward for our clients and reinforces our goals of equipping small business owners with the tools necessary to grow and enhance their businesses,” said DSLBD Interim Director, Robert Summers.“ DSLBDs role in the small business world is rapidly expanding and serves a vital part in helping the Districts more than 50,000 small businesses access information in real time. The site will allow small business owners to secure a strong position in the competitive business environment.”
The site will serve as a hub for small businesses to stay current on the latest programs and services and will offer visitors an instant and secure way to register for programs and create individual profiles. Viewers will also have full access to new programs, workshops and other invaluable resources that provide business owners specific tools to help them improve the effectiveness of their business.
As a small business resource center, the website is tailored exclusively to connect those looking to find additional capital and resources to new opportunities.
DSLBD features will include:
-
Expanded program profiles
-
Enhanced searches
-
Greater security
-
Simplified navigation
In the coming months, DSLBD will introduce new site features with more user defined content, downloadable templates, and an improved, online Certified Business Enterprise application process. Visitors are encouraged to submit suggestions to
