FY 2026 Robust Retail Citywide Grants

Robust Retail Announcement

The Robust Retail Grant Program supports DC-based retail businesses as they grow, strengthen operations, and continue serving neighborhood corridors across the District. Through direct grant funding, the program helps small businesses invest in improvements that increase visibility, stability, customer experience, and long-term sustainability.

Since launching in 2019, the Robust Retail Grant Program has provided more than $4 million in funding to over 500 local businesses across all eight wards. The program reflects the District’s continued commitment to supporting neighborhood retail, activating commercial corridors, and helping small businesses remain competitive in a changing economy.

Grant funding may be used for a variety of eligible business expenses, including:

  • Storefront and interior improvements
  • Equipment and technology upgrades
  • Inventory support
  • Marketing and branding
  • E-commerce enhancements
  • Operational improvements
  • Business expansion efforts

The program is designed to support a wide range of retail businesses, including restaurants, cafés, salons, fitness studios, markets, bookstores, creative retailers, and neighborhood service providers.

Robust Retail is part of Mayor Muriel Bowser’s continued investment in DC’s small business community and aligns with the District’s broader efforts to create vibrant commercial corridors, retain local businesses, and support economic growth across all eight wards.

For updates on future funding opportunities, eligibility requirements, and application periods, businesses are encouraged to continue monitoring DSLBD communications and program announcements.
