Marcia Harris

Marcia Harris is currently the Agency IT Lead at the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD), working to support the economic growth and development of District-based small and local businesses.

In this role she serves as the DSLBD program manager for DES (DSLBD Enterprise System) and also manages the IT team, which is responsible for the development and maintenance of DSLBD information systems, the agency’s IT equipment and overall IT support for all staff as they accomplish their daily tasks.

Ms. Harris has an extensive background in information technology systems, working for more than 25 years as a contractor for federal and local government IT contracts within the DC Metropolitan area. She held a variety of IT, analyst, and management positions with companies throughout the Washington area such as Micah Systems Technologies, Inc., CTX Corporation, Booz Allen Hamilton and Systems Research and Applications.

Ms. Harris is a graduate of Hampton University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. She also obtained a Master of Science degree from the University of Maryland University College in Computer Systems Management.
