Art All Night is a Celebration of Creativity, Culture, and Community in All 8 Wards

(Washington, DC) – Mayor Muriel Bowser invites residents and visitors to attend Art All Night, the city’s largest annual arts festival, to celebrate the vibrant creativity of DC's artists, musicians, and performers. Held on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. each day, Art All Night will feature activations across all eight wards. Supported by the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD), this year promises expanded programming, new activations, and more local business involvement than ever before.

“Art All Night is one of DC’s most electric events of the year,” said Mayor Bowser. “Art All Night is a celebration of everything that makes our city unique—our creativity, our culture, and our small businesses. This year, we’re showcasing even more local talent, partnering with our small businesses, and expanding programming in new and innovative ways. It’s free, it’s local, and we hope to see you there.”

New for 2024 is an expanded Downtown DC activation, transforming the heart of the city into a cultural hub with interactive art installations, live performances, and a special marketplace showcasing the creativity of local artists. A highlight of the Downtown festivities will be a large block party at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, featuring live Go-Go music, food trucks, art, and more. In collaboration with EventsDC, Shaw Main Streets will also host a jamboree at Mount Vernon Square, adding another exciting layer to the weekend's events.

In addition to Art All Night, Dine All Night, a citywide campaign promoting extended hours at participating restaurants, continues through October 1. Dine All Night aims to enhance foot traffic and support small businesses by encouraging residents and visitors to explore the city’s culinary scene.

“Art All Night and Dine All Night provide an incredible platform for our entrepreneurs to shine and grow,” said DSLBD Director Rosemary Suggs-Evans. “It's a powerful opportunity for small businesses to engage with new audiences and for us to support DC’s creative economy.”

Art All Night 2024 will feature live music, dance performances, art installations, and interactive exhibits across DC neighborhoods, fostering connections between businesses, artists, and local communities. Participating Main Streets include:
